Kellen Stevens

Senior Transactional Attorney

Kellen Stevens is a senior transactional attorney for DLHA. His primary practice area encompasses commercial transactions and agreements, corporate governance, company formation and maintenance, M&A, real estate, trust and estates, intellectual property, and supporting clients in securing and protecting their rights and assets. He formerly worked in-house for financial institutions in San Francisco and New York, where he focused on derivative and debt financing agreements, compliance programs, and internal audits.

One of Kellen’s greatest strengths is his ability to distill complex issues into manageable components that advance his client’s interests. Representative clients of Kellen include software and engineering companies, real estate holding and development companies, joint venturers, operating companies, local business owners, nonprofit organizations, employees, landlords, commercial tenants, and individual estate clients.

Kellen Stevens Successes:

  • Negotiated a bespoke, multi-jurisdiction executive compensation agreement that encouraged growth through a tiered, incentive-based compensation structure.

  • Successfully coordinated with the California Board of Equalization to obtain a favorable legal determination resulting in the Assessment Appeals Board of the City and County of San Francisco Assessor-Recorder to implement a determination and retroactively apply a base year tax treatment for a multi-family investment property in San Francisco.

  • Drafted standard and complex estate plans for families that hold business interests or other significant assets to preserve generational wealth and make significant contributions to their communities through philanthropy.
